Using feedback from our clients, we've once again improved the format of this newsletter. We'll now be giving you more of what you want: practical "How-To" guides you can use as you plan your projects and deploy new equipment.

At the top of this issue is an application feature on preventing copper theft. After talking to many of our clients, we've heard about a resurgence in copper theft. This is probably because, with copper prices bouncing back rapidly, thieves have a renewed incentive to steal from you. In this article, you'll learn how to monitor against copper theft. We've diagrammed multiple DPS solutions - all the way from the remote site to your central office.

We've also enhanced the content in our case studies. Be sure to read this issue's article on Interbel Telephone in Montana. As part of our improved newsletter format, this article includes detailed application diagrams of the Interbel monitoring system. This goes a long way to helping you understand the solution they implemented - so you can do the same for your own network.

As you read the feature articles above, don't forget the "Techno Knowledge Papers" (TKPs) from the Tech Support team. These are detailed "How-To" guides for performing a specific setup task with your DPS equipment. Tech Support says that at least 40% of all incoming support calls are covered by TKPs that you can freely download from the MyDPS section of our website. We spend a lot of time and effort creating these TKPs for you, and we don't see nearly enough downloads, so be sure to review the full list in MyDPS. These TKPs have received more positive comments by readers than any other kind of article, so we'll obviously be including them in every issue.

Until next time,

Eric Storm, President of DPS Telecom
