President's Letter: January 2010

Every once in a while, something happens that really puts our professional and personal relationships into perspective. This Christmas was one of those times. My e-mail inbox was flooded with e-mails from our clients wishing the best for our company & families. Positive affirmations are one thing, but after reading each of those letters, I felt VERY good and thankful for a lot of things.

What was really special was the number of people who had since moved on to other positions and reminisced about how the association with DPS made a positive impact on them. I too went down memory lane and consider myself fortunate to work with so many individuals over the course of these last 20+ years.

We look forward to accelerating the momentum from 2009 into 2010, with a continued flow of new products and solutions. We will shortly be officially announcing a new T/Mon hardware platform that provides another leap in T/Mon capabilities.

Happy New Year!

Eric Storm, President of DPS Telecom

President's Letter: February 2010

DPS is pleased to announce the T/Mon LNX. As many of you know, our RTU's are multi-generational. But what you might not know is that the T/Mon master station is as well. It's not quite as obvious as the RTU's because the generational cycle is larger.

If you look back over the years, the T/Mon platform has undergone 4 major evolutions since its creation. Each one represented new hardware, capabilities, and client feedback. Some however, were more dramatic than others, such as the very successful T/Mon NOC. The T/Mon LNX is just as big of leap from both hardware and user-benefit points of view.

The T/Mon LNX is available for new network monitoring deployments or, if you are an existing DPS client with the T/Mon Gold plan, you can upgrade to the LNX platform at a substantial discount.

Among other things, the LNX directly address the two most requested T/Mon features:

  1. Multi-NIC
  2. Expanded TCP/UDP port capacity

It also features a forward-looking platform to add features such as native SQL, not previously available on our NOC platforms. To learn a bit more about the LNX, read the feature article in this ezine or give one of our sales engineers a call. You'll be glad you did.

Until next time,

Eric Storm, President of DPS Telecom

President's Letter: March 2010

Any of our clients who have toured the DPS facilities know this: DPS is a process-driven company. Last year, we were became an ISO9001:2000 certified company. We just went through our first surveillance audit, and I'm pleased to report that everything went perfectly. The official result was "No Non-conformities Found". One of the foundations of ISO9001 is continuous improvement, which is something we've always embraced. There are a number of sources that tell us what to improve. Client feedback is a very valued source for us. Should you receive a survey from us regarding our products and services, please respond to it. Client surveys help us improve on many fronts.

I recently came back from another trip, in which I visited a company that was using a "compete DPS solution". By integrating alarm telemetry, with video surveillance, building access, and a T/Mon alarm master station, they achieved a very high level of integration. This simplified their logistics & operations and reduced their cost. DPS is all about value and services. By engineering products in the way that we do - we can provide solutions that the industry as a whole can't approach.

Speaking of travel, I'm currently at the CTIA show in Las Vegas (March 23-25, Las Vegas Convention Center). If you're there, please stop by Booth #6166 and speak with me.

Until next time,

Eric Storm, President of DPS Telecom
