Reserve Your Seat TodayWelcome to 2007!!!
We are looking forward to another year of new products designed to meet the changing needs of the telecom marketplace.
This issue, we will be focusing on T/Mon, our centralized alarm management and mediation platform. First, we will focus on system redundancy and the latest enhancements to the NRI Module. Next, we will show you how to get the most value out of your T/Mon by making sure you have it properly equipped to monitor more equipment in your network, along with additional functionality of those alarms once you have captured them.
We've included both a RoHS update and a Technical Knowledge Paper (TKP) on how to setup the integrated FTP server on T/Mon. Of course, we wouldn't be starting the year out right unless we provided you with a specially created "Fast Track Introduction to SNMP Alarm Monitoring" white paper.
This month we will also profile Startec Global Communications to see how they use their T/Mon to protect their global network administered from distributed locations.
May you all have a happy & prosperous new year
A Commitment to Continuous Improvement
At DPS, great products are never great enough. Our engineers are continuously striving to make them even better. Many of our improvements come directly from client suggestions. Others come from strategic objectives that we've chosen to pursue. The net effect is that our software platforms are evolving so you can do more things with less effort.
This month is very special. We are releasing upgrades to three platforms: T/Mon, T/Windows, and T/Alpha. T/MonXM 5.0 is the most significant of the three. We've added new functionality as well as more generic improvements throughout the platform.
If you are a T/Mon or IAM user who has wisely invested in a maintenance agreement, you will be contacted soon to confirm your shipping address. If you don't have a maintenance agreement and you like what you see in this issue of The Protocol, give us a call. I can't stress enough the importance of keeping your T/Mon software current. By the way, the T/Mon 5.0 upgrade will automatically include T/Windows.
The T/Alpha for Windows update will be available for download on our Web site. We've also been very busy with T/GrafX, but more on that next month...
New DPS Developments Give You Even More Value
We just concluded another successful training session at DPS. As is our goal, our clients found it very impactful. They will be able to harness more of the power of T/Mon and our remotes when they get back to their facilities. Of particular interest was the ASCII processing part of the class and some of the T/Mon 5.0 features that will make things even better for T/Mon users.
A few of our clients have also been asking how our new Production Building construction has been going. In short, it's going very well. We had our groundbreaking ceremony last week. Yellow trucks are now all over the place.
This issue features our popular Auto-Databasing ASCII module, which creates massive monitoring leverage for our T/Mon users. We will also review the T/Mon SLIM. It's the perfect alarm master if you are looking at putting together a high-end NOC for a smaller-sized network.
Sneak peek!!! Typically we don't mention new products until our engineering dept has them wrapped up in a pretty bow, but I decided to do something a bit different in this issue. This month, you get a sneak peek of the next RTU to come off our engineering bench. We hope you take a look and we appreciate any feedback that you might have. Please free to send e-mail to feedback@dpstele.com if you have any comments or suggestions.
