Whether you're new to our equipment or you've used it for years, DPS factory training is the best way to get more from your monitoring.
Reserve Your Seat TodayAt DPS, we talk to thousands of people every year about what they're trying to accomplish with remote monitoring gear. Most of them know our strong opinions about remote monitoring best practices - largely from reading our web articles like this one. So, we sometimes get asked about the other manufacturers in the space.
Since we want to have a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership with you, we freely admit that we’re not the best fit for every need. For example, we focus heavily on quality rather than providing the absolute lowest price possible.
The manufacturing of RTUs and master stations is a very niche industry. We know our competitors well, and we frequently get to say “hi” to them at trade shows.
With that in mind, I’d like to give you now a list of companies with track records of providing RTUs and master stations.
The Megasys “Telenium” line of master stations have attractive user interfaces with logical organization.
The company also provides databasing service, which is always good if you don’t have a lot of time to get your project moving.
The Telenium master also integrates well with DPS NetGuardian RTUs, so you could choose to use both in your monitoring system. In fact, Telenium is just about the only master station (other than the DPS T/Mon) that can poll NetGuardians using the efficient & specialized DCP protocol.
Asentria sells their “SiteBoss” family of RTUs, plus a specialized “TeleBoss” family that includes PBX alarm monitoring. Many models are a fairly close capacity match for various NetGuardians, with some including advanced auxiliary functions like Lua scripting.
Of particular note are the professional-looking printed front panels on some of the SiteBoss remotes. Every time I see one, it makes me want to march over to our metal shop and try to give our NetGuardian workhorses - effective as they are - a prettier face. Powder-coat can only get you so far, I guess.
Cordell offers a full range of cost-effective alarm, traffic, and IT systems for network, legacy, soft switch, and SNMP applications.
Their master station, the CINAS Network Management System supports SNMP, so DPS RTUs can integrate well with it.
It’s also possible to do the reverse, with a DPS T/Mon master station polling Cordell RTUs.
Honeywell Process offers solutions for automation control and instrumentation, plus services for the oil and gas industries. They provide products and software solutions and instrumentation that help you turn data into useful information.
Their systems are designed to communicate with SCADA systems, handling challenging remote monitoring demands for the oil & gas industry.
Solarwinds produces IT infrastructure management softwares. This company gives organizations the capacity to monitor and control the performance of their IT environments, whether on-premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid models.
Their SNMP manager can be combined with SNMP-based DPS NetGuardian RTUs (virtually every NetGuardian supports SNMP v1, v2c, and/or v3).
