T/MonXM Version 4.2

General Features

  • New Software - T/MonXM 4.2 ships with the new T/Windows and T/AccessMW software.
  • T/Link - New T/Link software supports direct LAN access to your T/MonXM system for faster, easier access and increased productivity.
  • T/Windows - This advanced remote software provides a graphic interface to all of T/MonXM's powerful features, making centralized alarm management easier than ever.
  • Ring Polling - T/MonXM can now monitor network links between DCPx RTUs in ring configuration for precise location of ring network breaks and continued full visibility, even during a break.
  • Network Time Protocol Support - You can now synchronize your T/MonXM system with the precision and convenience of Internet time servers.
  • Up to 3,000 Change-of-State Alarms - The maximum number of change-of-state alarms has been increased to 3,000, vastly extending T/MonXM? monitoring capacity.
  • Automatic Initialization - T/MonXM will now automatically initialize when Monitor Mode is selected.

New Software Modules

  • FTP Server - The FTP Server transfers files to and from your T/MonXM system through your network. You can now backup and restore your databases and install new software modules via FTP. The FTP Server includes support for graphical FTP clients and parent and current directory references.
  • Building Access System* - The Building Access Systems manages building access at remote sites. Authorized personnel can enter through entering a code?nauthorized persons can? enter at all. The BAS is perfect for key elimination. The BAS will maintain a list of who will be granted access, what locations personnel can access, and when they can access it. The BAS requires external hardware, including keypads, and the functionality is hosted at remote sites in specific models of NetGuardian and KDA-T8. The BAS is free to clients with an active Maintenance Agreement.
  • SNMP Trap Processor* - The SNMP Trap Processor retrieves traps from SNMP devices and processes them with all the powerful functions of T/MonXM. The Trap Processor supports MIB installation, removal, and compilation, variable binding traps, HP OpenView Event Traps, and features TCP connectivity and enhanced MIB parsing. The SNMP Trap Processor is compatible with all known commercial SNMP v. 1 devices.
  • NEC21SV Module* - The NEC21SV Module provides full support for NEC 21SV alarm collection remotes. T/MonXM can communicate directly with NEC 21SV remotes, eliminating the need for hard masters and simplifying network design. What? more, you can now process alarms from your NEC 21SV remotes with the full functionality of T/MonXM.
  • Badger Interrogator* - The Badger Interrogator will collect discrete and analog alarms and manage control relays for Badger alarm remotes models 481, 475 and 433.
  • TABS Responder* - The TABS Responder adds TABS mediation to T/MonXM.

*Optional Module

Improved Functions

  • Integrated SNMP Agent - The Integrated SNMP agent has a reduced base memory footprint and increased serviceability. The Integrated SNMP Agent requires TCPAgent v. 1.0f or later and is applicable to uses with the SNMP Responder module.
  • Database Backup - Database Backup can now use drives other than A and B. It also supports higher capacity drives such as ZIP drives, plus configuration and history backups can now be written to the same disk.
  • Derived Alarms - Derived alarms now support date and day of week terms, allowing formulas like "Declare an alarm if the generators do not start their self-test every Tuesday."
  • ASCII Databasing - ASCII databasing has been improved for greater speed and ease of use.
  • TL1 - Ping and Trap Processor jobs can now be defined as TL1 sources.

Improved Interface

  • Device Templates - Users can now import and export device configurations as device templates, greatly reducing databasing time. Device templates can be imported to other devices or saved in a backup folder. The Device Templates command is available in every screen where "AF6 = Templates" appears.
  • Improved Monitoring Interface - The standing alarm and COS alarm screens now automatically switch between trouble logs and text messages as alarms are browsed, which saves keystrokes and is easier to use. If an alarm has both an associated text message and a trouble log, T/MonXM will use the default mode specified by the user.
  • Remote Port Editing - Remote port editing screens have been redesigned for greater clarity and ease of use. The screen now displays port the Type and Port identification of the data connection, making it easier to confirm your configurations.
  • Fast Navigation - The new Fast Menus feature lets users select and execute menu commands with a single stroke of the hot key.
  • Text Fields - Truncated text fields now appear with the symbol ">" to indicate the truncation.

Speed Improvements

  • Speed increase - T/MonXM 4.2 incorporates a number of technical changes to improve speed, including intelligent virtual screen scan suppressions, improved IOwait states, and increased vectorization.

Software Improvements

  • T/AccessM - T/MonXM 4.2 includes support for T/AccessM? audio alert for the most severe COS alarms.
  • Web Browser - The Web Browser COS and standing alarm screens now automatically refresh at user-specified intervals.

Improved Support for Remotes

  • AlphaMax - Online provisioning of the AlphaMax has been improved for greater reliability.
  • NetMediator - Support for the NetMediator 4-port TBOS/TABS expansion module has been added.
  • DCP Remotes - Analog visibility to all DCP remotes has been greatly improved.
  • NetGuardian - Support for NetGuardian internal alarms has been added, providing greater visibility of the condition of the device.

Support for Dial-Up Devices

  • Dial-Up Backup Test - T/MonXM can now test the integrity of a backup dial-up connection during normal dedicated polling operations.
  • Dial-Up Alarm Collection - The collection of alarm points over dial-up connections to DCP remotes has been improved to reduce phone call duration.
  • Dial-Up Authentication - Authentication of incoming dial-up devices has been improved, increasing the stability and security of alarm collection via dial-up connections.
  • Dial-Up Management - Improved dial-up management gives users complete control over when T/MonXM calls dial-up devices.
  • Dial-Up Alarm Reporting - Alarm events reported by dial-up devices are now automatically added to Standard History reports.

Pager and E-mail Notifications

  • Group Alphanumeric Pager Testing - Users can now send a test page to groups of alphanumeric pager carriers directly from Monitor Mode.
  • On-the-Fly E-mail Messaging - E-mail messages can now be sent from pager status windows, giving e-mail the same on-the-fly messaging capability of alphanumeric paging.
  • Enhanced English Protocol Analyzer - The e-mail English Protocol Analyzer has been enhanced to show additional transaction details when sending e-mail, providing additional visibility in case of incompatibility with third-party e-mail servers.
